CAMDEN, NJ – The Rowan University women’s lacrosse team had a 16-3 victory over Rutgers-Camden in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Wednesday evening.

The Profs are 8-5 overall and 2-1 in the conference. The Scarlet Raptors have a 3-7 record with a 0-3 NJAC mark. Rowan was led by midfielder Michelle Lubrano (jr. Delanco, NJ/Holy Cross) with three goals and three assists. Defender Lauren Callaghan (fr. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) found the net three times and attack Leah Hershey (sr. Glen Rock, PA/Susquehannock) scored twice. Attack Trish Harrington (sr. Mahwah, NJ/Suffern (NY)) collected two goals and one assist.

Defenders Shannon O’Brien (so. Kendall Park, NJ/South Brunswick) and Nicole Valianti (sr. Oaklyn, NJ/Collingswood) and attacks Vicky Sucharski (fr. Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) and Ellen Brigham (so. Oakton, VA/Oakton) all compiled one goal and one assist. Defender Jamie Reiff (fr. Beach Haven, NJ/Southern Reg.) and attack Marissa Micciche (fr. Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) both scored once. Midfielder Alli Dickey (sr. Stevensville, MD/Kent Island) dished two assists.

For the Scarlet Raptors, attack Annalise Strojan (so. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill W.) registered two goals. Attack Samantha Gregg (fr. Collingswood, NJ/Collingswood) followed with one goal.

Rowan took 23, shots while Rutgers-Camden had eight. Profs’ goalies Lindsay Barrie (fr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) and Kerry Pehnke (jr. West Windsor, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro N.) each played one half. Pehnke made two saves and Barrie had one. Scarlet Raptors’ goalie Rachel Powell (so. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) stopped two shots.

The Profs jumped out to a 10-0 lead over the first 15:10 of the game. Callaghan started the scoring 34 seconds into the first period. Sucharski added a free position goal (2:05) and Lubrano had her first goal (2:31). Callaghan scored at 2:55 and 8:41 and Valianti added a goal in between at 6:02. Lubrano recorded two straight goals at 11:46 and 12:06. Hershey (13:40) and O’Brien (15:10) both had an unassisted goal. Gregg put Rutgers-Camden on the scoreboard at 16:22. Harrington posted goals at 18:51 and 27:15 to give Rowan a 12-1 halftime advantage.

In the second period, Brigham (32:50), Hershey (41:22) and Micciche (49:40) all scored to extend the lead to 15-1. Strojan had an unassisted goal at 52:28 then Reiff answered with a goal at 57:40. Strojan’s second goal came with 52 seconds remaining.

Rowan hosts NJAC opponent Kean University on Saturday, April 23 at 1 p.m.
