RADNOR, PA – Midfielder Alli Dickey scored six goals to lead the Rowan University women’s lacrosse team over Cabrini College, 19-5 on Tuesday.
Defender Nicole Valianti (sr. Oaklyn, NJ/Collingswood) contributed with four goals. Midfielder Michelle Lubrano (jr. Delanco, NJ/Holy Cross) collected three goals and two assists. Attack Vicky Sucharski (fr. Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) added two goals while midfielder Trish Harrington (sr. Mahwah, NJ/Suffern (NY)) had two assists.
Defender Lauren Callaghan (fr. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) chipped in with one goal and two assists. Attacks Leah Hershey (sr. Glen Rock, PA/Susquehannock) and Ellen Brigham (so. Oakton, VA/Oakton) and defender Shannon O’Brien (so. Kendall Park, NJ/South Brunswick) all tallied one goal and one assist.
For the Cavaliers (1-5), attack Jamie O’Hanlon (sr. Springfield, PA/Springfield (Delco)) scored three goals. Midfielder Katie Slonaker (jr. Princeton Junction, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro North) had one goal and one assist while attack Gabrielle Gorbey (sr. Ridley Park, PA/Ridley) found the net one time. Midfielder Dolores Weathers (sr. Media PA/Sacred Heart) dished two assists and defender Julie Bonomo (sr. Manhasset, NY/St. Mary’s) had one.
In the Profs’ goal, Lindsay Barrie (fr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) made six saves in 45:26. Goalie Kerry Pehnke (jr. West Windsor, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro N.) played 14:34 and stopped four shots. Cavalier goalies Janel Folkomer (fr. Springfield, PA/Springfield (Delco)) and Gianna Porretta (sr. Hammonton, NJ/St. Joseph) had four (51:24) and one (8:36) save respectively. Rowan compiled 31 shots while Cabrini took 21.
Rowan (3-4) started the game with four straight goals in 7:40. Lubrano scored first with a pass from Hershey. Callaghan assisted on the next two goals by Hershey and Sucharski. The fourth goal came on Sucharski’s free position. O’Hanlon put the Cavaliers on the scoreboard with a free position goal at 12:10. Rowan tacked on three more goals for a 7-1 (14:31) advantage. Dickey (sr. Stevensville, MD/Kent Island), Valianti and Callaghan each scored one. Slonaker had a goal with an assist from Weathers at 15:16.
The Profs ended the period with eight unanswered goals for 15-2 advantage. Dickey and Valianti scored three goals apiece while Lubrano had two. In the second half, O’Hanlon produced two goals and Gorbey added one for the Cavaliers. Dickey led Rowan with two goals while Brigham and O’Brien each had one.
