Women's Soccer Wins 1-0 Over Farmingdale State

GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women’s soccer team won 1-0 over Farmingdale State College in a nonconference game on Thursday night.

Forward Linda Sierra (jr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) scored the winning goal at 18:36 and forward Jess Babice (sr. Groveville, NJ/Steinert) had the assist. Babice had a cross from the left side of the goal to the middle of the box. Sierra’s shot hit the upper left corner of the Rams’ net.

Rowan has a 9-1-1 record while Farmingdale is 10-3 on the season. This week, the Profs are ranked 20th in the nation and third in the South Atlantic Region.

Farmingdale took nine shots and Rowan had seven. Goalkeeper Deana Wood (fr. Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Reg.) turned away four shots for her sixth shutout. For the Rams, goalie Amanda Maass (jr. Mastic Beach, NY/William Floyd) made one save.

Rowan’s next game is at Moravian College on Saturday, October 9 at 3 p.m.
