SAN ANTONIO, TX – The Trinity University men’s soccer team shut out visiting Rowan University, 3-0 on Friday night.

The Tigers, ranked sixth in the nation, have an 8-1 record with a seven-game win streak. The Profs drop to 3-7-2 on the season.

All of the scoring came in the first half. Midfielder Yuri Ribeiro scored unassisted at 2:22. Midfielder Tommy Barros had the second goal at 9:54 with an assist from midfielder Chesley Farmer. Forward Brian Hines found the net at 28:16 on a pass by midfielder Kyle Porter.

Trinity totaled 33 shots while Rowan had four. In the Tigers’ net, goalie Jacob Truitt made one save in 74:05. Goalie Michael Barbosa played the remaining 15:55. For the Profs, goalkeeper Charlie Cunliffe (sr. Lakewood, NJ/Lakewood) stopped four shots in 45 minutes. Goalie Michael Fanz-Huster (so. Waterford, NJ/Hammonton) turned away eight shots in 29:05 while goalie Michael Boisselle (sr. Holland, PA/Council Rock S.) had one save in 15:55.

Rowan continues its trip to Texas with a game against Southwestern University on Saturday, October 2 at 6 p.m. The game will be played at Trinity University.
