MAHWAH, NJ – The Rowan University women’s lacrosse team rolled over conference opponent Ramapo College, 20-3 on Saturday.

Attack Alli Dickey (so. Stevensville, MD/Kent Island) led the Profs with seven goals and one assist. Midfielders Ali Goodman (so. Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape), Kelly Angstadt (sr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.), Carly Welsh (sr. Allenwood, NJ/Wall) and Nicole Valianti (so. Oaklyn, NJ/Collingswood) and attack Lauren Crennan (sr. Pottstown, PA/Owen J. Roberts) each contributed with two goals. Welsh, Angstadt and Crennan also had one assist. Attacks Alayna Morris (jr. Columbus, NJ/Northern Burlington Reg.) and Tori Hart (jr. Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape) and midfielder Trish Harrington (so. Mahwah, NJ/Suffern (NY)) had one goal apiece.

Rowan goalie Alicia Mannino (sr. Richboro, PA/Conwell-Egan Catholic) had two saves in 37:34. Kerry Pehnke (fr. West Windsor, NJ/ West Windsor-Plainsboro N.) played the final 22:26 in the Profs’ net. It was the season opener for both teams.

For Ramapo, attack/midfielder Colleen Steel (fr. Wyckoff, NJ/Ramapo), attack Christina Cigolini (fr. Ridgewood, NJ/Ridgewood) and defender Brittany Gazzanigo (fr. Millstone Twp., NJ/St. John Vianney) each scored once. In the Roadrunners’ goal, Diana Silva (so. Howell, NJ/Howell) made four saves in 12:34. Goalie Megan Tierney (jr. Wayne, NJ/Wayne) played 47:26 and compiled 15 saves.

Cigolini put Ramapo on the scoreboard first with a free position goal at 6:40. Rowan came back with 15 straight goals to lead 15-1 at the intermission. Dickey recorded five goals in the first half. Angstadt, Goodman and Welsh all scored twice while Harrington, Hart, Morris and Crennan each had one. Dickey picked up her sixth goal at 31:59 to start the second period. Three and a half minutes later, Steel hit the net for the Roadrunners’ second goal. The Profs followed with two goals from Valianti then one from Dickey and Crennan. Gazzanigo had the last goal of the game with 2:35 remaining.

Rowan travels to Franklin & Marshall College on Tuesday, March 10 for a 4:30 p.m. game.
