GLASSBORO, NJ – The sixth ranked Gettysburg College women’s lacrosse team won 12-4 over host Rowan University on Monday. The Bullets are undefeated with a 7-0 record.

Gettysburg was led by attacks Nina Emala (jr. Baltimore, MD/Bryn Mawr) and Hollis Stahl (jr. Hightstown, NJ/Peddie School) and midfielder Jessica Crane (jr. Sudbury, MA/Lincoln-Sudbury) with three goals apiece. Emala also totaled three assists while Stahl had two. Midfielder Lexie Hearn (jr. Old Greenwich, CT/Greenwich) hit the net two times while attack Marnie Commins (so. Fairfax Station, VA/Robinson) added one goal and one assist.

For Rowan (2-3), midfielder Nicole Valianti (so. Oaklyn, NJ/Collingswood) scored two goals. Midfielder Michelle Lubrano (fr. Delanco, NJ/Holy Cross) and attack Lauren Crennan (sr. Pottstown, PA/Owen J. Roberts) each had one goal and attack Alayna Morris (jr. Columbus, NJ/Northern Burlington Reg.) registered one assist.

Gettysburg out shot Rowan, 31-15. Goalie Kristen Krammer (jr. Woodbine, MD/Gleneig) made seven saves for the Bullets. Goalie Kerry Pehnke (fr. West Windsor, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro N.) played the first half in the Profs’ net and had six saves. Goalie Alicia Mannino (sr. Richboro, PA/Conwell-Egan Catholic) stopped five shots in the second period.

Gettysburg jumped out to a 2-0 lead with goals by Hearn (1:16) and Emala (3:39). Rowan got on the scoreboard at 5:41 with an unassisted goal by Valianti. Crane put the Bullets up 4-1 with two straight goals at 11:30 and 12:15. Valianti scored her second goal (14:42) on a free position shot. Gettysburg went up 7-2 after three unanswered goals, two by Stahl and one from Commins. Lubrano had the last goal with eight seconds remaining and the Profs trailed 7-3 at the intermission.

Emala started the scoring in the second half with a free position goal. Crennan scored on a pass from Morris at 39:51 The Bullets pulled away with four straight goals. Hearn, Emala, Stahl and Crane each scored once.

Next, Rowan travels to Washington College (MD) on Wednesday, March 25 for a 7 p.m. game.
