GLASSBORO, NJ – Forward Jess Babice scored two goals to lead Rowan University to a 3-1 victory over Moravian College in a nonconference game on Saturday.

Rowan improves to 10-1-1 and has a seven game win streak. Moravian has a 7-5-1 record. Babice (jr. Groveville, NJ/Steinert) scored her first goal at 7:58 in the first period. Forward Veronica Rhea (so. Pennsauken, NJ/Paul VI) sent a ball through the defense and Babice kicked it into the left side of the net. At 19:29, Babice scored on a pass from Rhea to give the Profs a 2-0 advantage.

Rowan forward Melanie Wittenberger (fr. Tabernacle, NJ/Seneca) scored on a feed by midfielder Nina Fragoso (so. Franklinville, NJ/Delsea Reg.) at 39:11 for a 3-0 halftime lead. With 11:30 remaining in the game, Greyhounds’ midfielder Alessandra Valdetara (sr. Butler, NJ/Butler) deflected a shot off a Rowan defender for Moravian’s only goal.

Rowan took 18 shots, while Moravian had 15. Goalkeeper Jillian Brannan (so. Saddle Brook, NJ/Saddle Brook) made eight saves in the Profs’ net. Greyhounds’ goalkeeper Sarah Halpin (jr. Downingtown, PA/Downingtown W.) stopped four shots.
