GLASSBORO, NJ -
Fiona Lockhart and
Elaina Corson teamed up for three goals in the final 50 seconds, including one at :02, to cap a furious comeback for #17 Rowan as it defeated Stockton, 12-11, in the semifinals of the 2026 NJAC Women's Lacrosse Championship. The second-seeded Profs (14-3) advance to the championship game for the fifth consecutive year and will travel to top-seeded TCNJ on Saturday at 1 p.m.
The victory was also the 200th career win for Rowan head coach
Lindsay Delaney in her 19 seasons with the Profs.
After Stockton (11-6) extended its lead to 11-9 with 1:44 remaining, Lockhart scored with :49 on the clock. The senior tallied another on the next possession, taking a pass from Corson, to net the tying goal with :24 to play.
Madison Rothwein earned the next draw control and on the possession, Corson was fouled, setting up a free-position attempt. The senior then converted the gamewinner with two seconds left to propel the Profs into the final.
Rowan trailed by as many as six goals in the game, falling behind 7-1 in the opening minute of the third quarter.
Lockhart started the second half comeback with a goal at 13:01 of the third quarter but Stockton added another to maintain an 8-2 lead.
Yasmin Harris netted one at 10:19 with an assist from
Jess Hoffmaster, and then
Alexis Lowry notched two straight goals on free-position shots to pull the Profs within 8-5.
Corson, the NJAC's leader in goals, tallied her first of the game with two minutes to play in the third, taking a pass from Rothwein to cut Stockton's lead to 8-6. But the Ospreys again had an answer, netting one more before the third quarter ended, increasing the lead to 9-6.
Stockton extended its lead to 10-6 at the start of the fourth quarter, but Rowan would finish the game by scoring six of the final seven goals.
Stockton stormed out to a 6-1 start, scoring four consecutive goals in the first quarter after Rowan's
Fiona Lockhart opened the scoring in the game. The Ospreys added two in the second quarter, while keeping the Profs scoreless and holding them to five shots.
Lockhart had five goals in the win and Lowry scored four times, with Corson finishing with two.
Kylie Durboraw limited Stockton to just five goals in the second half, and made six saves in the game.
Rothwein broke Rowan's school's single-season record for draw controls, as she now has 136, breaking the mark of 131 set by Shannon O'Brien in 2013.
