Taz Cantey and
Brycen Williams scored 20 points apiece to pace Rowan to a 92-76 win over Kean in NJAC men's basketball action that extended the Profs' winning streak to four games.
Freshman
Khamai Orange added 17 points as he made 6-of-7 from the field.
Khalil Baker added 13 points and 10 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the year and
Michael Pirone scored 12 points off the bench as he converted 5-of-10 field goal attempts, while Cantey shot 9-of-16 from the field and Williams connected on 4-of-7 three-pointers as Rowan shot 55.6 percent in the game.
After taking a10-point halftime lead, Rowan (8-13; 8-6) expanded on it by outscoring Kean, 13-4, in the first nine minutes of the second half, to go up, 62-48.
Seven straight points, including five from Pirone, pushed the Profs lead to 20 points, 75-55, with 6:14 remaining. Rowan maintained the advantage the rest of the way, and
Damien Edwards connected on a three-pointer to push the lead to 92-71, which was the Profs' largest of the game.
In the first half, Kean (10-11; 7-7) owned the early lead, 25-21, before Rowan went on a 17-5 run, which included 10 consecutive points. Williams scored five in the 10-0 spurt as the Profs took a 38-30 lead with 3:12 to play in the first half. Rowan then outscored the Cougars in the final minutes of the half to own a 45-35 lead at the break.
Rowan returns home on Saturday to host Ramapo for "Senior Day", with game time set for 3 p.m.
