GLASSBORO, NJ -- The Rowan University Athletic Department is in the construction phase of its new weight room for student-athletes set to open this summer. The space will be housed in the old swimming pool area adjacent to the Tony Lisa Natatorium in Esbjornson Gymnasium.

The new weight room will be over 15,000 square feet capable of hosting multiple programs at a time for workouts. The facility will include new office spaces for staff and coaches and will feature a nutrition station. The multi-million dollar project is headed up by Tester Construction (TCG) of Bala Cynwyd, Pa.
This space was designed with student-athlete development at the forefront—supporting performance training, injury prevention, and long-term wellness. It reflects Rowan's commitment to providing equitable, high-level resources that allow our teams to train, compete, and succeed at the highest level both on the field and in the classroom.
This project has been made possible by a collaboration with university leadership, its facilities team, and other campus partners. This facility is a tangible example of Rowan Athletics' continued growth and dedication to preparing student-athletes for success long after their playing careers conclude.
Rowan's new weight room is one of the core pillars of the "There Must Be More Champions Fund" that is only attainable and sustainable through support and partnership and will ultimately impact thousands of student-athletes.

"We are excited about the opportunity for our football athletes, as well as the rest of the varsity athletes, at Rowan to be in an elite facility. We demand so much of them on the field and for that student-athlete experience to be elevated in a space that really breeds championship culture and allows them to become the best version of themselves on the field. This is just one of many things we're doing and like our mantra says, there must be more!"

"To see our strength and conditioning program evolve from coaches running it, to actually having a space, and now to having a dedicated space with a full-time strength and conditioning coach is just an amazing progression. I think we're doing it first class and we've got great people involved in the program. It'll be nice to have a space that our players can walk into and say, 'this is amazing'. To see the branding and have the space where they can all work together is great."
