NEWARK, NJ -- Rowan tied a season-high with 12 three-pointers while five players finished in double digits as the Profs won, 78-54, at Rutgers-Newark on Saturday in NJAC action.
Emily Poulas went 5-of-6 from downtown to finish with 17 points, both career highs for Rowan (15-9, 11-6 NJAC).
Megan Donelson added four three's as the freshman and
Jes Mastriano each kicked in 12.
Natalia Barrera (11 points) and
Haley Selmer (10 points) reached double figures.
A big third quarter helped open up a nine-point lead at halftime. Donelson opened the scoring in the second half with back-to-back triples. The lead swelled to 55-33 after a three from
Christina Sikaras with 2:26 remaining. The Profs shot 52% (10-of-19) in the third to take a 59-35 into the final frame.
Sikaras finished with nine points. Selmer added 11 rebounds for a double-double and a pair of blocks, both team highs.
Quanajah Felder led the Scarlet Raiders (2-22, 0-17 NJAC) with 19 points.
Rowan closes out the regular season on Wednesday at home against Stockton at 5:30 p.m. With a win and a Montclair State loss at TCNJ, the Profs can move up to the #4 playoff seed and secure a home quarterfinal contest. The NJAC Tournament begins next Saturday, February 21st.
