GLENSIDE, PA -
Christian McGillen scored with 15 minutes remaining to give #6 Rowan a 2-1 win in a non-conference men's soccer matchup this evening.
Johnny Troiano scored the Profs' first goal as they improve to 7-1-1 on the year.
Â
Troiano tallied his team-best ninth goal of the season in the first half after taking a pass from
Luke McNamee and converting at 32:48.
Â
The Knights (3-2-4) countered just seconds later, at 33:51, when Brayden Perry knotted the score with an unassisted goal.
Â
McGillen broke the 1-1 tie at 75:54 with his fifth goal this year as
Joey Kurak and
Ryan Cleary were credited with the assists.
Â
Rowan held a 14-9 advantage in shots but Arcadia tested
Travis Holiday in the final eight minutes as the Profs' keeper needed to come up with two saves to preserve the win. Holiday finished with three saves in the second half with
C.J. Norton making one save as he played the first half.
Â
The Profs begin defense of their NJAC crown on Saturday when they open conference playing by hosting Rutgers-Newark. Game time is 2 p.m.
