BALTIMORE, MD -- Rowan took down Capital to pick up its first win on the season to close out its stay at the Giovanazzi Tournament hosted by Johns Hopkins on Saturday.
The Profs took down the Comets 25-16, 25-18, 25- 23, in the final match of the classic. Earlier in the day, Rowan fell to Babson, 3-1 (25-12, 25-12, 20-25, 25-15).

Rowan looked to rally from a 2-0 deficit with a big third set win, but fell in four to the Beavers.
The Profs came alive in the third set, getting four kills each from
Jena Kaul and
Jessica Smart as part of an 11-2-30 (.300) hitting line while battling through seven ties and three lead changes. Rowan notched the final five points to break a 20-20 tie to make it, 2-1.
Babson responded with 13 kills in the fourth set to help and ice the final result.
Smart put up 10 total kills while Kaul finished with eight.

Kaul (nine) and Smart (seven) combined for 16 of the team's 27 kills in the three-set sweep over Capital. The Profs served up 12 aces in the match, five coming from
Gabriella Cooper and three from
Raven Albrecht. Cooper also led the team with 10 digs.
Up 2-0, Rowan fought off a late charge from the Comets in the third to notch the first victory on the year.
The Profs get back to action next weekend at the Knights Invitational beginning on Friday with the host Neumann and continues on Saturday with matches against Cedar Crest and Ursinus.
