PITMAN, NJ – The 2025 New Jersey Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll selected Rowan in third as the Profs were also named the dark horse this season.
The Profs picked up one of the eight first-place votes as well. Salisbury was named the favorite as the defending champions garnered six first-place votes. Christopher Newport was second with TCNJ in fourth, Montclair State in fifth, Kean in sixth, William Paterson in seventh and football conference newcomer Vermont State-Castleton in eighth.
Rowan went undefeated here in the confines of Richard Wackar Stadium and won its final three contests to finish with a 6-4 record and 4-2 mark in NJAC play. One of those victories came in the inaugural "Breakfast Bowl" in a 16-10 overtime win over Montclair State here in Glassboro.
Sophomore
AJ Ryker, who was named the 2024 NJAC Defensive Rookie of the Year, will spearhead a defense that will see a lot of new faces. Last season, he was second on the squad in tackles while adding 3.5 sacks, seven tackles for losses, and a pair of interceptions. On the other side of the ball, the offense returns a bevy of starters including a solid running back duo of
Nunes Bukula IV and
Tyshawn Bookman. The pair combined to run over 900 yards with nine touchdowns.
The 2025 season features six home games, that gets underway on Saturday, September 6th with a visit from Case Western Reserve. NJAC play opens on October 4th with a matchup at Christopher Newport. The regular season finale is on Saturday, November 15th at Kean.
