Matt Chinchillo,
Jordon Drayton, and
Michael Zarfati were named to the 2025 Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Football Team.
The Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area teams are nominated for, and voted on, by the sports information directors at 30 institutions in the Philadelphia region. To be considered for the award, student-athletes must be in at least their second year at their current institution and hold a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.30 or higher to be considered for nomination.
This season, Chinchillo and Zarfati were named all-conference by the NJAC. Drayton is a 2024 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honoree.
Chinchillo, a biological sciences major, and Drayton, who majors in chemistry, were part of an offensive line that produced an average of 437 yards per game of total offense including 166 yards a game on the ground and 270 yards a game in the air. Â
Zarfati, an exploratory studies major, enjoyed career highs as the sophomore was ranked third in the NJAC in receptions (45), receiving yards (797) and receiving touchdowns (8).
Rowan finished 8-2-1 in 2025 and capped the season with a 26-20 win over Utica in the ECAC Asa S. Bushnell Bowl.
Joining the trio on the team were Jason Bateman, Brett Nabb, John Nolek, and Chris Rivera of Eastern; Carter Janki, John Lista, Liam O'Brien, Netinho Olivieri, Bisi Owens, and Jared Richardson of Penn; Dante Atton of Temple; Jordan Carr, Deane Leader, Tristan Macahdo of Ursinus; Villanova's Temi Ajirotutu, Luke Colella, Shane Hartzell, and Pat McQuaide; Connor Noble of West Chester; Luke Shaeffer and Luke Shimko of Widener. Nabb was selected the performer of the year.
