GLASSBORO, NJ - The Rowan field hockey team, four-time defending NJAC champion, tips off the 2025 home season for Rowan athletics on Friday, August 29 when the Profs host #18 Ursinus at 4 p.m. at Coach Richard Wackar Stadium. The Profs are ranked 14th in the 2025 Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III National Coaches Preseason Poll and are also picked to repeat as NJAC champions.
Head coach Michelle Andre, now in her 12th year at her alma mater, returns a solid group of upperclassmen, while welcoming numerous promising newcomers, as the Profs seek their fifth straight appearance in the NCAA Championship.Â
Leading the returnees is senior All-American
Tess Herman, who earned NJAC Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2024. Herman will anchor the defense along with senior goalkeeper
Mariah Juiliano, who posted a goals against average of 1.47 last season.
Sophomore
Jenna Gray, the 2024 NJAC Rookie of the Year, is the Profs' leading returning scorer (14 goals, 7 assists) after the graduation of NFHCA Region Player of the Year
Allie Palumbo. Gray will have help from juniors
Alexa Ronning (5g, 5a) and
Gracie Merrick (5g, 1a) in the midfield and up front.
Among the key dates on the Profs' top-notch schedule are meetings with #5 Johns Hopkins (home, Sept. 6), Catholic (away, Sept. 17), #6 Christopher Newport (away, Oct. 6), #3 Salisbury (away, Oct. 29) and a conference battle with #23 TCNJ (away, Oct. 15).
