Molly Green and
Elaina Corson scored four goals apiece as #22 Rowan defeated Montclair State, 19-4, in the NJAC Women's Lacrosse semifinals to advance to the conference championship game for the fourth year in a row, and the eighth in 10 years. The second-seeded Profs will visit top-seeded (#13) TCNJ for the NJAC title on Saturday at 1 p.m.
The win is Rowan's 15th of the year (15-2) giving the team the school record for victories.
Molly Green picked up four ground balls during the game to record the 211th of her career, making her Rowan's all-time leader in career ground balls, breaking the mark of 209 previously held by All-American Taylor Gretz. It is the third all-time record which Green owns as she closes out her stellar career also ranking first on Rowan's lists for caused turnovers and draw controls.
Yasmin Harris scored a career-high three goals, while
Calista Burke also added two tallies.
Hannah Lombardo recorded two goals and two assists with
Olivia Wisor netting a career-high two goals.
Goalie
Mel Rodgers made four saves in 45 minutes of action with Rowan possessing a 33-14 advantage in shots.
Aubrey Cunningham and
Kylie Durboraw shared time in net in the fourth quarter for the Profs.
Rowan scored the first 12 goals of the game to grab a 9-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Alexis Lowry started things off just two minutes in, and Green, Â Corson and Lombardo had two goals apiece. The Profs added the first three of the second quarter, with two from Harris, before Montclair State (9-7) got on the board with two straight in the final five minutes of the quarter as Rowan owned a 13-1 halftime lead.
The Profs outscored Montclair State, 3-1, in the third quarter with goals from Corson, Green and Burke. Rowan tallied the first two of the fourth quarter before Wisor broke the streak with back-to-back goals, with Burke netting the final goal of the game.
