Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Seniors Celebrated as Volleyball Takes Both Games of Home Tri-Match with Widener and Susquehanna

GLASSBORO, NJ -- Rowan celebrated its two senior with two wins in Saturday's home tri-match. The Profs took down Widener, 3-1 (25-19, 24-26, 25-20, 25-14), and later Susquehanna, 3-0 (25-15, 25-7, 25-13), to extend the team's win streak to seven games.

Before the day's first match with Widener, the coaching staff and team recognized Vanessa Hutchinson and Jena Kaul along with the families of each in a pregame ceremony. There was also a moment of silence to honor head coach Deana Jespersen.

Against Widener, Rowan served up 19 aces, its second most in a match this season, led by Ciara Bradley's career high five.

Bradley was one kill shy being the third Prof in double figure kills (9) with Abby Chadwick totaling 13 and Jessica Smart 11 respectively.

The day's final match vs. Susquehanna saw the Profs hit .361 (44-9-97), its fourth-best offensive output of the season. Kaul and Chadwick were on fire, as each put down 12 kills while Alexa Kelleher put kicked in nine and Bradley with seven.

Rowan led from start to finish in sets two and three, hitting over. 400 as a team in each frame to help pick up the three-set sweep.

Susquehanna defeated Widener in the day's second match, 3-0.

The Profs have earned the #2 seed in next week's NJAC Tournament and a first-round bye. Rowan will host a semifinal game here in Esby Gymnasium on Thursday, November 13th at 7 p.m.
