Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

McGillen, Holiday Lift Men's Soccer into NJAC Final with 1-0 Win at Stockton

Profs will host TCNJ on Saturday night for the conference title

GALLOWAY, NJ - Christian McGillen scored the lone goal as third-seeded Rowan edged second-seeded Stockton, 1-0, in the semifinals of the NJAC Men's Soccer Championship. Since TCNJ defeated top-seeded Montclair State, 4-1, in the other semifinal, Rowan will host the Lions in the championship game on Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m.

The Profs are the defending NJAC Champions and seeking their third title in the past four years. Rowan has now advanced to the NJAC Championship game for six consecutive years in the seasons it has participated. The Profs reached the final in 2019, (did not participate in NJAC play in 2020 due to pandemic), 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and now, 2025, which is the longest streak in the conference.

The NJAC has adopted digital ticketing for the championship and tickets will be available this evening. No cash will be accepted at the venue. PURCHASE

Rowan (14-3-4) broke through in the 59th minute as Davide Caputo controlled the ball across midfield and sent a pass to McGillen on the left. The junior carried the ball into the box and got off a shot, which trickled through the legs of Stockton keeper Kyle Birmingham. It was McGillen's sixth goal of the season and his third gamewinner.

Travis Holiday made four saves in the match and face 10 shots by Stockton in the first half. It was the senior's fourth shutout of the year and his second straight in the NJAC Tournament.
