Abigail Jazmin scored a career-high 22 points to lead Rowan to 63-53 win over Washington College in non-conference women's basketball action this afternoon at Esby Gym. The sophomore was 5-of-8 from the field and a perfect 4-for-4 from three-point range.

Jazmin also shot 7-for-8 from the foul line while
Megan Donelson had 11 points and eight rebounds.
Charlotte Carlies grabbed 10 boards as Rowan's notched its third consecutive victory.

Washington College (3-5) had cut into Rowan's lead and In the fourth quarter, trailed by just 44-38. But the Profs used a 7-0 run, ending in a fastbreak layup by
Haley Selmer, to build a 51-38 cushion with over five minutes remaining. The Profs held on by going 10-for-10 from the foul line in the final two minutes.

Washington took advantage of 1-for-11 shooting by Rowan in the third quarter and went on a 10-0- run to pull within, 39-31, with 3:51 remaining. The visitors then cut it to 42-36 at the end of the period.

Rowan came out firing in the first quarter, hitting 4-of-6 three-pointers, including three from  from Jazmin, to take a commanding 20-7 lead. Two quick baskets by the Shorewomen cut Rowan's lead to 20-11 at the end of the quarter.

Leading 20-14 the Profs went on a 15-0 run to start the second quarter, with five points from
Charlotte Carlies, to take a 35-14 lead, and eventually a 37-21 advantage at intermission.

Rowan was 23-for-31 from the foul line, with a 16-for-21 effort in the second half.

The Profs open conference play on Tuesday when they head to Montclair State for a 5 p.m. game.
