WAYNE, NJ -- Three players hit double-digit kills as Rowan claimed a 3-1 (25-21, 25-16, 21-25, 25-16) New Jersey Athletic Conference win at William Paterson Tuesday night.
Led by
Abby Chadwick's career-high 15 kills with 14 from
Jessica Smart and 12 from
Alexa Kelleher, the Profs remained unbeaten in NJAC play (3-0) and notched its sixth win in a row. Setter
Raven Albrecht tallied 40 assists and 12 digs for her third double-double on the season.
The Profs racked up 20 kills in the first set, with Chadwick totaling seven to help get out to a 1-0 lead.
Now down 2-0, the Pioneers stayed alive thanks to a six-point spurt to break a late 18-18 tie in the third set. Albrect served up a pair of aces to help get it to 24-21. Cecila Miller's kill made it 2-1 and moved things on to a fourth set.
In that fourth, the Profs led from start to finish, hitting a match-best .345 (12-2-29) to seal up the four-set win.
Miller led William Paterson with 15 kills and added five digs and three blocks.
Albrecht served up five aces with
Ciara Bradley adding a personal-best four.
Rowan returns to action this Friday evening as the Profs welcome St. Mary's for a non-conference contest beginning at 7 p.m.
