Tri-Match Sweeps Over Lycoming and Elizabethtown Propels Volleyball to Tenth Win in a Row

ELIZABETHTOWN, PA -- Rowan swept its way past Lycoming and host Elizabethtown in a tri-match on Saturday, extending the Profs' win streak to ten matches.

Against Lycoming (25-15, 25-11, 25-5), the duo of Jena Kaul and Jessica Smart combined for 22 of the team's 38 kills as the squad hit .368 (38-10-76) for its second-best offensive output of the season.

Ciara Bradley kicked in three kills, three blocks and four digs with Nia Ipeker adding a season-high four aces.

Rowan led from start to finish in the first two sets before an 11-0 run off a 6-4 lead in the third would put the team in front for good.

In the nightcap against the Blue Jays (25-14, 25-23, 25-18), Kaul (10 kills) and Smart (15 kills) paced the attack. Gabriella Cooper contributed a season-high 12 digs. Setter Raven Albrecht recorded 39 assists and 11 digs for her fifth double double of the year.

Three-straight kills from Smart was part of a 5-1 spurt to get Rowan to set point, 24-21, in the second. E-Town cut it to 24-23 before an attack error put the Profs up, 2-0. Late in the third set, a pair of aces from Vanessa Hutchinson put the wraps on a 5-0 stretch to lock up the sweep.

Host Elizabethtown defeated Lycoming in five sets in the day's first match.

Rowan gets back at it on Tuesday with a NJAC contest at Kean before a home date with Rutgers-Camden on Thursday.
