CAMDEN, NJ – A large second-half surge helped send Rowan to a 75-41 win at Rutgers-Camden Wednesday night in a New Jersey Athletic Conference matchup.
Leading 40-29 at the half, the Profs outscored the Scarlet Raptors, 35-12, over the final two quarters to pick up the NJAC road victory.
Kate Herlihy led all scorers with 18 points.
Sabrina Araujo hit two of the team's six three-pointers to finish with 14. Herlihy,
Charlotte Carlies, and
Shayla Johnson each had six rebounds.
The Profs ran off to a 6-0 start before the Scarlet Raptors answered with eight in a row of its own. Rowan took a 20-13 lead into the second where Herlihy kickstarted a big run. The senior scored all six points to help turn an eight-point lead into a 40-26 edge.
Rowan opened things up in the third, using a 23-6 stretch to add to the advantage.
Hope Goodwine had eight points with teammate Courtney Edmundo adding seven points and a game-high 10 rebounds for Rutgers-Camden.
Next up for the Profs is a showdown at William Paterson on Saturday in NJAC action. Tipoff is slated for 1 p.m.
