GLASSBORO, NJ – Rowan was on the wrong end of a 72-58 decision as the Profs fell to New Jersey City on Saturday in a NJAC clash.

NJCU got off to a flying start, taking a 12-2 lead in the opening minutes but the Profs fought back to close within, 18-16, at the end of the first quarter.

An 11-2 run by the visitors to start the second quarter gave NJCU a 29-18 advantage, the largest of the first half. Rowan was able to trim the deficit to just eight (34-26) by halftime.

The Gothic Knights started to pull away in the third quarter, taking a 53-37 lead with 3:12 remaining off a three-pointer from Autumn John, capping a 10-2 spurt.

John was one of five Gothic Knights in double digits with 10 points. Tahirah Kelley and Na'Tori Postell each netted 14 points and Elyssa Russo kicked in 13 and Kendra Rigo with 11. Rigo pulled down a game-high 18 rebounds and added four steals and three blocks.
