#9 Men's Soccer Plays to 0-0 Tie with Haverford in Home Opener

Profs will meet #1 Mary Washington on Friday night

GLASSBORO, NJ   - Ninth-ranked Rowan battled to a scoreless tie with Haverford (0-4-3) in the first home game of the year for the Profs, moving their record to 2-1-3, as Dylan Aportela recorded the shutout.

Rowan dominated offensively, holding an 18-7 advantage in shots, and a 6-2 edge in shots on goal. The Profs peppered 12 shots in the second half alone, with a few good chances in the final minutes, but Haverford keeper Jackson Simon was able to make six saves to preserve the shutout.

Johnny Troiano led the way for Rowan with four shots on goal while it marked the first time since the season opener that the Profs couldn't get on the scoreboard.

Rowan heads south on the weekend to play a pair of Top 25 teams, including a matchup with the nation's top-ranked team, Mary Washington, on Friday night. The Profs will then take on #13 Christopher Newport on Saturday evening.

The Profs opened the year with five consecutive road games and played three straight ranked teams (Franklin & Marshall, Johns Hopkins, Cortland), going 2-0-1 against them. This weekend's games will give Rowan five games thus far versus Top 25 teams.
