MAHWAH, NJ –
Elaina Corson and
Molly Green scored five goals each as Rowan (6-9) romped to a 22-3 win over Ramapo in NJAC women's lacrosse action today as the Profs improved to 3-0 in the league.
Calista Burke added four goals with
Hannah Lombardo and
Yasmin Harris added two each.
Green and Corson scored the Profs' first two goals of the game but Burke followed with three straight to give Rowan an early 5-0 lead. Ramapo (3-8; 0-3) got on the board at 6:11 but Rowan answered with six more from Green, Corson, Burke,
Trish Gillen and
Alexis Lowry to take an 11-1 lead at the end of the first quarter.
The Profs scored five more in the second, as
Yasmin Harris got two before halftime to give Rowan a 16-2 lead.
Green scored Rowan's only goals in the third, as the Profs held a dominating 18-2 lead heading into the final quarter.
Lombardo scored her first of the game in the fourth and
Jess Hoffmaster netted her first goal at Rowan at 9:26. Ramapo tallied its final goal fo the game with 7:04 remaining and then Lombardo added another and defender
Sophia Schiavo scored the final goal, which was her first of the season and third of her career.
Mel Rodgers made three saves in goal to earn the win for the Profs.
Rowan will host nationally-ranked TCNJ on Wednesday in its final home game, and "Senior Day".
