LANCASTER, PA –
Molly Green had four goals and Rowan held the early lead but third-ranked Franklin & Marshall stormed back to record a 21-12 win in non-conference women's lacrosse action this afternoon.
Fiona Lockhart,
Trish Gillen and
Elaina Corson were the other multiple-goal scorers for the Profs with two goals apiece.
Rowan (3-9) outscored the Diplomats, 5-4, in the first quarter as Green and Corson netted two goals each.
Franklin & Marshall (11-2), winner of its last six games, dominated the second and third quarters, getting seven goals before halftime.
Hannah Lombardo and Green tallied the Profs' lone goals as the home team held an 11-7 halftime lead.
The Diplomats added six goals in the third quarter to take a commanding 18-7 advantage, but the Profs got five back in the fourth quarter.
Fiona Lockhart scored two with Green, Gillen and
Calista Burke adding the other goals.
Mel Rodgers faced 45 shots by F&M and made nine saves on the day.
Green has nine goals in the past two games and 28 on the season, ranking second on the team behind Corson, who has scored 31.
The contest ends the non-conference slate for Rowan as it will head into conference play beginning on Saturday when it hosts Kean. Game time is 1 p.m.
