JERSEY CITY, NJ -- Rowan scored a 63-52 New Jersey Athletic Conference win at Jersey City on Saturday.
Kristina Johnson scored 16 points and
Kate Herlihy added 14 as the Profs move to 3-0 in conference play and extend the team's win streak to four games.
Johnson hit on five three-pointers, a career best, as the team was 10-for-20 from downtown. She hit three treys in the third quarter alone, helping turn a six-point halftime lead to a 47-30 advantage heading into the fourth.
The Gothic Knights' Destiny Battle scored eight of her game-high 18 points in the fourth, as NJCU gave a late rally to get it to a nine-point contest (57-48) with just over a minute to play. Johnson sealed it with her fifth triple of the day on the next possession to help put the home team away for good.
Rowan held a 46-40 rebound edge, led by
Charlotte Carlies with 12 boards. Carlies also kicked in seven points, four assists, and a block.
Sabrina Araujo and
Jess McLaughlin each hit two three's for the visitors.
The Profs head to Kean on Wednesday, December 11th for a NJAC tilt starting at 5:30 p.m.
