STATEN ISLAND, NY – Freshman
Jamir Brown set a Division III record in the 60 meter hurdles to kickstart the Rowan Indoor Track & Field season on Friday at the Fasttrack Opener at the Ocean Breeze Complex.
COMPLETE RESULTS
The rookie, competing in his first indoor meet ever, shattered the 10-year mark as his time of 7.72 in the finals gave him the top mark. Salisbury's Luke Campbell held the previous best time of 7.74 set in 2014.
Not to be outdone,
Kwaku Nkrumah ran a 7.92 in the same event, finishing runner-up to the freshman. Both runner's times bettered the program mark of 7.93 set by Nkrumah last season.
Another school record went down as
Masai Byrd clocked 6.84 in the 60 meters, breaking the old mark of 6.85 set by teammate
Shamar Love two seasons ago.
Jamile Gantt notched a PR in winning the high jump with a top mark of 2.09 meters.
Samael Milevoix claimed his best time ever in winning the 400 meters (48.88).
The Profs will get back at it in the New Year, returning to Ocean Breeze for the NYC Gotham Cup on Friday, January 17th.
