ST. DAVIDS, PA -- Rowan fell in three sets at Eastern (26-24, 25-18, 25-16) in non-conference action in the regular season finale for both teams Friday evening.
Brooke Adams recorded a double-double, notching 21 assists and 11 digs to go along with three kills and a block.
Jena Kaul was the team leader in kills with 11 while
Vanessa Hutchinson was tops in the dig department with 13.
Hannah Pringle (13 kills), Bridgette Kelly (nine kills), and Jailene Lugo (eight kills) combined for 30 of Eastern's 48 kills on the night.
Both teams used late rallies in the first set to jump ahead of one another. The Eagles put together five points in a row to open up a 24-18 lead, but the Profs had some tricks up their sleeve, putting down six-straight points to tie it up. Back-to-back kills from Pringle and Kelly would give the home team the first set win.
A 6-1 run opened up a 23-16 Eastern lead in the second where the Eagles went up 2-0 in the match. Rowan would fall behind 8-3 in the third, but battled back to tie things up at 12-12. A 13-4 spurt by the Eagles ultimately proved too much as the Prof comeback was cut short.
With the regular season complete, Rowan will turn its attention to Tuesday, where the Profs head to Kean in a quarterfinal matchup of the NJAC Tournament starting at 7 p.m.
