GRANTHAM, PA -- Rowan opened the 2024-25 season by downing Salisbury, 64-40, Friday evening at the Messiah Tip-Off Tournament.
Kate Herlihy led all scorers with 22 points on 10-of-19 shooting as the Profs built a 43-15 lead at halftime en route to the first win of the year.
Haley Selmer added a career-high 12 points and Kristine Johnson netted 10 points. Rowan shot 58% in the first half (17-of-31) while limiting the Sea Gulls to just five field goals in the first two quarters.
Herlihy had the hot hand in the first quarter, scoring 11 points to help Rowan get out to a 20-6 lead. The Profs would shoot 64% (11-o-f-17) in the second stanza doubling its 14-point lead after the first into a 28-point advantage at the break.
Nicole Miller paced Salisbury with 11 points but the Sea Gulls were just 14-of-63 (22%) from the floor on the evening. Teammate Abby Plaugher contributed nine points, four rebounds, and four steals.
Jess McLaughlin grabbed a team-best six rebounds, tying a personal best.
Charlotte Carlies blocked four shots while
Reagan Russo kicked in three steals.
The Profs will play the winner of the host Falcons and Washington College tomorrow in the final at 2 p.m.
