Joey Kurak netted the gamewinner to lift #21 Rowan to a 2-1 win over New Jersey City in NJAC men's soccer action this afternoon. The Profs are now 4-3-4 while picking up their first conference win of the season (1-0-1).

With the game tied 1-1 since the first half,
Johnny Troiano received a long pass into the box and headed it to Kurak at the left post. The freshman then knocked it in from close range for his second goal of the season, and the first gamewinner of his career.

Rowan scored first at 13:51 of the first half when
Emiliano Pavia put a shot into the lower corner of the net, after taking the pass from
Chris Spicer. It was the junior's first goal of the season.

NJCU (6-3-3; 0-2-0) knotted the game shortly after as Anthony Salmeron scored at 18:21 and it stayed that way until Kurak's goal at 72:01.

Rowan dominated with 24 shots to 10 for NJCU, while the Profs put nine on goal.
Dylan Aportela made three saves in net for Rowan.

The Profs are back at home on Saturday when they continue NJAC play against Rutgers-Camden at noon.
