MONTCLAIR, NJ -
Johnny Troiano scored the gamewinner in the second half to lift #23 Rowan to a 1-0 win over #7 Montclair State in a battle for first place in the NJAC men's soccer standings. The Profs up their overall record to 7-4-5 and are the only unbeaten team in conference play (4-0-2 )in the conference while hand MSU (11-3-1; 5-1) its first NJAC loss.
Troiano took a shot from close range that appeared to deflect off one of Montclair State's defenders for the goal at 62:02. It was the junior's team-best 12th goal of the year and his third gamewinner.
The teams battled through a scoreless first half with MSU holding a slim 4-2 edge in shots while taking six corners.

Dylan Aportela had four saves on the evening while the Profs fended off nine corner kicks by the Red Hawks.
The Profs return home to host Kean on Wednesday, October 23, with a 7 p.m. start time.
