Troiano's Goal Helps Men's Soccer to 1-1 Tie with #7 Johns Hopkins

GLASSBORO, NJ – Johnny Troiano's second-half goal helped the Rowan men's soccer team forge a 1-1 tie with seventh-ranked Johns Hopkins at the Rowan Soccer and Lacrosse Complex. The Profs improve to 1-0-2 with the result.

Trailing 1-0 in the first half, Troiano netted his first goal of the year at 17:40, just two minutes after Hopkins had opened the scoring. The sophomore blasted a shot from 25 yards out, with the assist from newcomer Jason Barragan.

Johns Hopkins (0-1-2) got on the board first, at 15:01, as Will Sangpachatanaruk  was set up with passes from from Griffin Meyer and Logan Falzarano.

The teams then battled the rest of the way as JHU held the advantage in shots in the first half, but they had four apiece in the second half. Dylan Aportela needed to make three saves on the evening. Rowan heads back on the road to visit Haverford for a match on Sunday, September 10th, at noon.
