HAVERFORD, PA – Led by two goals from
Johnny Troiano, the Rowan men's soccer team rallied from a first-half deficit to tie Haverford, 2-2, in the Jimmy Mills Classic. The Profs remain without a loss this season and are 1-0-3.
Trailing 2-0 at halftime, Rowan dominated in the second half, outshooting, 11-3.
Troiano scored his first at 71:20, when he took a pass from
Jason Barragan. The sophomore, who is the Profs' leading scorer with three goals, then tallied the equalizer at 83:13, with
Davide Caputo getting credit for the assist.
Goalkeeper
Dylan Aportela and the Rowan defense kept Haverford scoreless in the second half, while the junior posted two saves on the day.
Haverford (1-0-3) scored early, as Joey Carol put one in at 13:05, and then Cyrus Nasseri added one with :03 remaining in the first half to give the Fords a 2-0 lead.
Rowan returns home on Wednesday, September 13
th to take on Cortland in an early start, at 4 p.m.
