GALLOWAY, NJ -- Rowan fell in four sets at Stockton (22-25, 25-13, 26-24, 25-20) in New Jersey Athletic Conference action Tuesday evening.
Freshman
Ciara Bradley chalked up a season-best 12 kills,
Jena Kaul kicked in 10,
Sydni Greenwood added nine with
Kyra Hissner racking up eight along with a personal-high three solo blocks. Bradley and
Brooke Adams (41 assists) each had two aces.
Stockton's Nicole Palmer paced all attackers with 18 kills as the home team won three-straight sets after the Profs took the first.
In that first set, Rowan erased a 19-16 hole, thanks to an 8-3 run highlighted by a pair of kills from
Isabel Kirchner and a solo block from Hissner.
The Ospreys returned the favor in the second, going on a 14-5 spurt to break a 6-6 tie as the Profs had just five kills in the set.
The third set featured nine ties and four lead changes, the last coming on a 24-24 score. Stockton took advantage of a service error and used a kill from Rileigh Wilson to etch out the two-point win. The Ospreys were able to get out to a 7-1 lead in the fourth before the Profs pulled within one on two occasions including a 17-16 score. Stockton netted five-straight points to open up a six-point edge to hold off the visitors.
Kirchner finished with seven kills as the team hit .149 on the evening (47-25-148).
Next up for the Profs is a home NJAC matchup against Montclair State on Thursday here in Esbjornson Gymnasium beginning at 7 p.m.
