SWARTHMORE, PA -- Rowan dropped a 3-0 decision (25-20, 25-14, 25-19) at Swarthmore on Thursday night.
The Profs put together 26 kills, with seven coming from 
Jena Kaul and six from 
Isabel Kirchner.
The Garnet as a team hit .213 (34-14-94) and had 15 aces against the visitors. Kaylee Zhang led Swarthmore with a match-high 11 kills. Tricia Razdan and Alexia Enache each added seven.
In the first set, both teams were tied at 18-18 before Swarthmore jumped on a 7-2 run to go up 1-0. Rowan looked to bounce back in the second, getting out 8-4 edge after a kill from Kirchner, but the Garnet ran off a 21-10 spurt to move things to the third.
Rowan will return home on Saturday when the team hosts Eastern and Goucher in a tri-match starting at 10 a.m. here in Esbjornson Gymnasium.
