GALLOWAY, NJ –
Jamie Cutrera had five goals and two assists and
Michaela Donnelly had a career-best six points (3 goals, 3 assists) to help Rowan to a 19-8 win over Stockton in NJAC women's lacrosse action. With the win, Rowan moves to 12-4 (3-1 NJAC) and maintains a hold onto second place in the league with one conference game to play.
Erin Rensaw tallied four goals and
Elaina Corson had three for the Profs, with
Molly Green handing out a career-high four assists.
The Profs broke open a 2-2 after one quarter by outscoring the Ospreys, 7-2, to own a 9-4 lead at halftime. Renshaw led the way, scoring three goals in the period with Cutrera adding two and Julianna and
Elaina Corson netting one apiece.
A pair of goals by Donnelly in the first two minutes of the third quarter increased the Rowan lead to 11-5 and although Stockton (11-4; 2-2 NJAC) answered with two, the Profs would finish out the quarter with four straight.
Fiona Lockhart had the first two in the streak, with Cutrera and
Julianna Corson giving Rowan a 15-7 lead by the end of the third.
Renshaw took a pass to open the scoring in the fourth and
Elaina Corson followed just 17 seconds later off a pass from
Katie Montenero to give Rowan the 10-goal lead, 17-7.
Elaina Corson added another, as did Cutrera as Rowan held a 19-7 lead in the final minutes.
Reilly Shaup made eight saves in earning the victory for Rowan, which outshot Stockton, 31-24.
The Profs close out the regular season at home on Saturday when they take on Montclair State.
