Women's Lacrosse Dominates Montclair State, 21-2, for Fifth Straight Win

Profs earn the second seed in the NJAC Championship

GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan women's lacrosse team scored 17 consecutive goals to roll to a 21-2 win over Montclair State in the regular-season finale, with Elaina Corson scoring four Jamie Cutrera adding three as the Profs won their fifth straight.
 
With the win, Rowan (13-4; 4-1 NJAC) clinches the number-two seed in this week's NJAC Championship and will host third-seeded Stockton in a semifinal on Wednesday, May 2 at 4 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for students, children and seniors.
Top-seeded TCNJ will host Kean in the other matchup with the winners meeting for the conference title on Saturday, May 6.  - CHAMPIONSHIP BRACKET

It marked the fourth time this season that the Profs scored 20-plus goals while in the past five wins, Rowan has outscored its opponents by a margin of 102-19. 
 
Erin Renshaw, Julianna Corson and Fiona Lockhart each scored two goals, as did Molly Green, who also added a team-high three assists.
 
Rowan owned a 6-2 advantage after one quarter of play as Elaina Corson tallied two goals, with tCutrera, Hannah Lombardo and Renshaw chipping in one apiece. 
 
From there, the Profs rattled off 17 straight, starting with five in the second quarter. Elaina Corson scored the first taking the pass from her sister, Juliana, at 9:58, with Lombardo netting one two minutes later, assisted by Renshaw. Renshaw followed with a goal of her own, assisted by Molly Green and then Trish Gillen scored a free-position goal, while Julianna Corson closed out the half with one in the final three minutes that gave Rowan an 11-2 lead at intermission.
 
Green scored twice in the third quarter, including one with 53 seconds left that was assisted by Cutrera as Rowan held a 17-2 lead.
 
The Profs finished off the game with goals from Cutrera, Calista Burke, Lockhart and freshman Yasmin Harris, who recorded the first goal of her career with 7:17 remaining.
 
Reilly Shaup made two saves in 45 minutes of action with Mel Rodgers finishing off the game in goal in the fourth quarter.
