Cutrera, Lombardo and Julianna Corson Pace Women's Lacrosse Over Kean, 23-5

UNION, NJ - Jamie Cutrera scored five goals and Hannah Lombardo and Julianna Corson added four goals apiece to lead Rowan to a 23-5 win over Kean in NJAC women's lacrosse action. The Profs improve to 11-4 and 2-1 in the league, while winning their third in a row. During the current winning streak, Rowan has outscored its opponents 62-9.
 
Cutrera added two assists to tie her career-high with seven points while Lombardo notched an assist to set a new career-high in points (5). Erin Renshaw had three goals and two assists and Fiona Lockhart tallied three goals while Molly Green and Michaela Donnelly each handed out three assists in the win.
 
Renshaw had two goals and an assist in the first quarter, as the Profs staked a 6-2 lead.
 
Less than a minute into the second quarter, Lombardo started a string of six straight goals as Rowan built up a commanding 12-2 lead. Lombardo had her second in that span with Cutrera, Elaina Corson, Julianna Corson and Lockhart adding one apiece. Kean broke the Profs' streak with one at 4:50, but Cutrera netted two in a row and Renshaw added one at :09 to give Rowan a 15-3 advantage at halftime.
 
Kean (3-10; 1-2)opened the scoring in the third quarter, but again, the Profs tallied consecutive goals, with four from Cutrera, Julianna Corson, Lombardo, and Jenna O'Neill, who recorded the first goal of her career. Kean scored its final goal with :17 to close out the quarter.
 
Rowan added four more in the fourth, from Elaina Corson, Trish Gillen, Lockhart and Julianna Corson.
 
The Profs outshot the Cougars, 32-14, and goalie Reilly Shaup made seven saves to pick up the victory.
 
Rowan heads to Stockton on Tuesday for an NJAC matchup before closing out the regular season against Montclair State on Saturday.
