COLLEGEVILLE, PA- Freshman Elaina Corson scored the go-ahead goal and Molly Green had four goals to lead Rowan to a 16-11 win over Ursinus in the season opener for both teams.

Seniors Julianna Corson and Erin Renshaw tallied three goals and the Profs got two goals apiece from Elaina Corson, Jamie Cutrera and freshman Trish Gillen. Goalkeeper Reilly Shaup made six saves on the day in the win.

With the score tied at 9-9 in the third quarter, Corson netted one on a free position shot with 1:06 remaining to give the Profs a 10-9 lead that they would not relinquish.

In the fourth quarter, Julianna Corson opened the scoring, but after a goal from Ursinus' Ashley Noto, Rowan rattled off four straight, with two apiece from Gillen and Renshaw, including Gillen's first career tally, to increase the lead to 15-10. Corson then scored Rowan's final goal of the game.

Green, last year's NJAC Rookie of the Year, scored the first goal of the Profs' season at 13:42, assisted by Cutrera, and gave Rowan a 2-0 lead with her second less than a minute later.

Ursinus scored its first goal of the year at 9:30 and Cutrera netted her first at 7:12. The Bears then scored two in a row to tie the score at 3-3, but Green and Elaina Corson, with her first career goal, closed out the scoring in the period to give Rowan a 5-3 lead.

Green opened the second quarter with a man-up, free position goal, and Erin Renshaw put one in, assisted by Julia Corson, to give Rowan a 7-3 lead. Ursinus would then score three straight to close to within 7-6 at halftime.

Renshaw and Green led the Profs with three ground balls apiece while Hannah Lombardo posted a team-high three caused turnovers.
