Herlihy Hits for a Game-High 22 Points to Pace Women's Basketball Over Rutgers-Camden, 81-52

Game Highlights

GLASSBORO, NJ – Junior Kate Herlihy poured in a career-high 22 points to help Rowan roll to an 81-52 win over Rutgers-Camden in an NJAC women's basketball contest at Esby Gym, as the Profs improved to 6-3, and 3-1 in the conference.
 
Herlihy connected on 10 of 19 shots from the field in 22 minutes of action. Eliana Santana scored 10 points on 4-for-8 shooting while Jess McLaughlin tallied 10 with three three-pointers.
 
Rowan led in the early going, holding a 17-12 advantage at the end of the first quarter, but broke things open in the second. The Profs started the quarter with a 16-1 run, that included eight points from Herlihy, to own a commanding 33-13 lead with 3:53 remaining. Back-to-back three-pointers from McLaughlin, and a jumper by Reagan Russo, saw Rowan leading at halftime, 42-22.
 
In the opening minutes of the third quarter, the Profs scored 11 in a row, with Santana netting six, to take a 30-point margin, 55-25, at 7:24.
 
The Profs kept rolling in the fourth quarter as Nicole Mallard assisted on consecutive layups by Herlihy and Sabrina Araujo knocked down a three to give Rowan a 67-33 lead. Rutgers-Camden answered with a 10-0 run, but Herlihy ended that with a jumper at 4:36 for a 69-43 lead, and the Profs coasted the rest of the way.
 
Rowan garnered 26 offensive rebounds, to own a 46-38 advantage on the boards, as the Profs posted 15 second-chance points. The Profs also outscored the Scarlet Raptors, 42-14, in the paint.
 
The Profs will play the first of three straight on the road on Saturday when they travel to Ramapo for a 3 p.m. game. Rowan's next home game will be on January 3rd against Christopher Newport.
