Johnny Troiano had a pair of goals, including the first goal, to lead the Rowan men's soccer team to a 3-0 win over William Paterson (5-11-1; 1-6-1) in NJAC action. The Profs improve to 7-3-5 and 5-2-1 in the league with one regular-season match remaining.
The Profs dominated on the attack owning a 24-2 edge in shots.
Dylan Aportela was credited with his first solo shutout of the year as he didn't have to make any saves
Troiano tallied his team-best 12th goal of the season with a shot to lower right corner of the net in the 24th minute, as Emilano Pavia assisted, to give Rowan the 1-0 lead.
Ryan Cleary netted his first goal of the year at 58:44, as he took a pass from
Davide Caputo to build up a 2-0 advantage.
Troiano put the game out of reach in the 85
th minute as
Sergio Sola Garcia was credited with the assist. It marked the fourth multiple-goal game of the season for the sophomore.
The Profs will close out the regular season on Wednesday evening at home, in a key NJAC matchup against rival Stockton at 7 p.m. on "Senior Night".
