MAHWAH, NJ –
Ryan Gale and
Davide Caputo scored a goal apiece, and
Dylan Aportela posted the shutout as Rowan defeated Ramapo, 2-0, in NJAC men's soccer action today in the pouring rain. The Profs improve their record to 5-3-5 (3-2-1 NJAC).
Gale opened the scoring with one at 35:23 as he took a pass from
Johnny Troiano, as the Profs outshot the Roadrunners, 9-4, in the half. It was Gale's fourth tally of the season.
Aportela kept Ramapo off the board and the Profs held that 1-0 lead until the final minutes. Caputo netted the insurance goal with three minutes to play, for his third of the year. Troiano again set up the goal to mark his second assist of the game, and increased his scoring total to a team-best 24 points on the season.
Aportela finished with four saves on the day while Rowan outshot Ramapo, 17-8, to earn his first complete shutout of the season.
Rowan returns home to face TCNJ on Wednesday evening, October 18
th.
