CAMDEN, NJ –
Turlough Gartlan headed in the tying goal with under two minutes to go as the Rowan men's soccer team salvaged a 1-1 tie with Rutgers-Camden.
The Profs (4-3-5; 3-1-1 NJAC) dominated the game and were in front of the net most of the night and couldn't put one in until the final minutes.
Luke Yates sent a throw-in from the left side and the Gartlan headed it in with 1:54 left for his second goal of the year.
Rutgers-Camden (8-4-2; 3-1-1) scored in the fifth minute of the game and held that lead despite the Profs' attack. Rowan outshot the Scarlet Raptors, 21-1, with an 11-0 advantage in corner kicks, but Rutgers' keeper Sean Boen made 10 saves on the evening.
Dylan Aportela was in goal for the Profs and didn't need to make any saves.
The Profs are on the road this weekend at Ramapo on Saturday.
