MONTCLAIR, NJ -- Rowan finished off Montclair State in four sets, winning 3-1 (25-14, 25-20, 16-25, 25-23) Thursday night in a New Jersey Athletic Conference matchup.
The team hit .179 (52-26-145) on the night, with 19 of those 52 kills coming from 
Natalie Ogden, who also added 12 digs for her second-straight double double and second match in a row with 19 kills. 
Brianna Newson kicked in 10 kills while setter 
Brooke Adams put down 42 assists, seven digs, four kills, three aces, and a pair of block assists.
The matchup of the two teams was the first since two clashed in a five-set thriller for the conference championship a year ago.
The Profs totaled 15 kills in each of the first two sets to get out to a 2-0 lead. In the third, the team had just six kills along with 11 errors and saw the home team use an early 8-1 run go up by five.
The fourth set featured three big scoring runs as Rowan put together a huge 12-4 spurt to turn a one-point deficit into a commanding 17-10 advantage. The Red Hawks countered and re-took the lead (20-18). Trailing 21-19, back-to-back kills from 
Isabel Kirchner and 
Jena Kaul gave the set its tenth tied score. The Profs put the finishing touches getting four kills on next four points to remain unbeaten in conference play.
Leah Higgins led Montclair State with 10 kills and was a dig shy of a double double of her own.
Rowan gets right back at in on Saturday as the team heads to Scranton for the Electric City Classic. The Profs battle RIT at 11 a.m. followed by a contest with the host Lady Royals at 1 p.m.
