Volleyball Triumphs Past Stockton in Wild 3-2 Contest

GLASSBORO, NJ -- Rowan rallied from a 6-1 deficit in final set to come back and defeat Stockton in a wild five-set affair, 3-2 (25-21, 25-23, 25-27, 21-25, and 15-9), Tuesday night in NJAC action at Esbjornson Gymnasium.

The Profs won the first two sets and pushed the Ospreys to the brink in the third but the visitors found a way to win the next two and force a fifth set. The match also featured 39 ties and 26 lead changes as that 6-1 score in the final set was the largest lead of any team on the evening.

After Rowan fell behind in the fifth, the squad got it down to two at 8-6 then scored the next six points getting two kills each from Jena Kaul and Isabel Kirchner as part of that game-changing scoring run. The Profs nailed it down at 15-9 to move to 11-1 on the season.

Kaul and Kirchner each finished with nine kills as the team finished with 57 on the night. Natalie Ogden posted a game-high 19 kills and added 12 digs for a double-double and Courtney Rhoden kicked in 10 enders. Setter Brooke Adams put up 51 assists along with six digs and three aces.

For Stockton, Haley Green totaled a team-high 13 kills as teammate Kate Louer added 12.

Rowan resumes conference play on Thursday as the team heads to Montclair State in a rematch of last season's NJAC Title Game in a 7 p.m. start.
