CAMDEN, NJ –
Elise Cohan tallied five goals and
Ashley Lechliter netted the 100
th of her career as the Rowan women's lacrosse team dominated Rutgers-Camden, 20-3, in NJAC action today. It marks the second straight win for the Profs, improving them to 6-7 and 2-1 in the conference.
Lechliter scored three in the win to give her 101 goals in her career in 63 games at Rowan.
Jamie Cutrera also scored three goals while
Julianna Corson and
Molly Green each had three goals and an assist.
Erin Renshaw added two goals, with
Calista Burke scoring one, while
Sophia Schiavo handed out two assists and
Chloe Shea added one.
The Profs staked a 4-0 lead, with two goals from Cohan, before Rutgers-Camden (2-9; 0-4 NJAC) got on the board with a pair.
The floodgates then opened for Rowan, as it scored 16 consecutive goals into the fourth quarter to run up a 20-2 lead.
Lechliter tallied her milestone goal at 13:14 of the third quarter, as she took a pass from Schiavo.
Cohan had the Profs' final goal of the contest at 12:40 and Rutgers got one more before the end of the game.
Rowan held a 30-5 lead in shots and
Reilly Shaup made two saves in 45 minutes to earn the win.
Mel Rodgers finished out the win in the final quarter.
The Profs return home to face Kean on Saturday, April 23 at 6 p.m. in which their seniors will be celebrated on "Senior Night".
