Lechliter Scores 7 Goals as Women's Lacrosse Handles Kean, 21-6, on Senior Day

Corson and Cutrera add four goals apiece; Shaup makes 10 saves

Game Highlights

GLASSBORO – Ashley Lechliter scored seven goals and Julianna Corson and Jamie Cutrera had four each as Rowan women's lacrosse rolled to a 21-6 win over Kean on "Senior Day" for its third consecutive win.
 
It also marked the third straight game that the Profs scored 20-plus goals as they have outscored their opponents, 61-11, while Rowan improves its record to 7-7 and 3-1 in the NJAC.
 
Rowan honored its seniors in a pre-game ceremony – co-captains Lechliter and Gianna Rusk, Shannen Sterner, Chloe Shea, Reilly Shaup, Rachel Sepcic, Lauren Ferriola, Elise Cohan, Lulu Villani and manager Morgan Kyser.
 
Corson added two assists in the contest while Molly Green posted three assists. Erin Renshaw, Chloe Shea, Micheala Donnelly, Hannah Lombardo and Cohan also handed out an assist apiece.
 
The Profs scored nine unanswered goals to start off the game, led by Shannen Sterner scoring off the opening draw. Lechliter and Corson each had three in the first quarter, with Cohan and Cutrera rounding out the scoring.
 
Rowan goalie Reilly Shaup kept Kean off the board until 2:28 to play in the first quarter, as the Profs led 9-2 after the first 15 minutes.
 
Lechliter tallied the first two of the second quarter, with assists from Cohan and then Green, before Cohan registered a man-up goal, assisted by Donnelly. Lombardo got in the scoring column, assisted by Corson, before Cutrera and Green teamed up for a pair of goals. Lechliter and Cutrera scored the final two goals of the third quarter as Rowan held a commanding 17-4 lead.
 
Lechliter took a pass from Lombardo to open the fourth-quarter scoring and Corson scored her fourth to give Rowan a 19-5 lead. Donnelly netted one with the assist from Shea and Calista Burke closed out the scoring off a pass from Corson.
 
Shaup made 10 saves in the game to earn the victory, as she faced 22 shots.
 
The Profs will play their final regular-season home game on Tuesday when they host Stockton at 6 p.m.
