GLASSBORO, NJ –
Ashley Lechliter had three goals and
Molly Green had two goals and two assists as the Rowan women's lacrosse team fell to sixth-ranked TCNJ, 21-9, in the NJAC opener for the Profs.
Chloe Shea also scored twice for Rowan (4-7; 0-1 NJAC), while
Erin Renshaw and
Julianna Corson contributed one goal each.
Elise Cohan assisted on two goals as she upped her season scoring total to a team-high 28 points (23 goals, 5 assists).
Jamie Cutrera and
Shannen Sterner added assists on the evening.
TCNJ (9-1; 2-0 NJAC) did most of its scoring in the second half, outdistancing the Profs, 11-4, in the final two quarters.
Rowan matched TCNJ goal for goal early on, with Renshaw netting one and Lechliter scoring two as the visitors led, 4-3, at the end of the first quarter.
Lechliter and
Julianna Corson provided the scoring for Rowan in the second, as TCNJ held a 10-5 halftime lead.
Green got the Profs on the board in the third and
Chloe Shea scored back-to-back goals, one assisted by Corson, in a span of less than a minute, to keep the Profs within, 13-8.
TCNJ started the fourth quarter with three straight goals, before Green connected on one with the assist from
Elise Cohan. The Lions would then score the final five goals of the game to provide the final margin.
Rowan will head to Ramapo on Saturday for an NJAC meeting at 1 p.m.

They raise seeing eye puppies, teaching them basic commands and manners and then socialize the dogs with a variety of situations that a blind person might experience, such as a lacrosse game.
